Covid 19- 6 months on

June 2021 saw DGB commence  the rebuilding of the band after many months of not being able to meet together. During the following months, many changes took place but with hard work and determination, the band finally resumed our concert programme with three capacity Christmas Concerts and other smaller festive events.

As 2022 quickly progressed, we really got back into the swing of things, competing at the NEMBBA Contest, Yorkshire Area Championships and The Buxton Festival. NEMBBA in particular marked a special milestone for BBb bass player Keith, as he received his long service award for a fantastic 50 years with Dronfield Band!

The momentum continued during the Golden Jubiliee Celebrations, providing music at a number of local events and Garden Parties, finally rounding off the season with a visit to Wetherby Bandstand.

Our most memorable event however, was the concert and fundraising event for Ukraine which was hosted by St Catherine of Siena Church, Richmond, Sheffield. Joining together with Dronfield Community Band and supported by members of the church,  a staggering £1600 was raised from admission donations, raffles and stalls.

We've had a great time practicing and performing to audiences and though we've been busy, we still found time to enjoy knocking down a few skittles at the bowling alley. DGB will continue to rehearse during the summer, as we work hard preparing for our upcoming Autumn Concert Season and dare we mention it 'Christmas'
