End of Year Roundup

The organisation has had a fantastic 12 months which has seen many successful performances at a variety of events across the region. In November, Dronfield Genquip band competed at the NEMBBA contest in Darley Dale, playing Peter Graham's 'Dimensions', and finding favour with the adjudicator to gain a creditable 3rd place.

We were also delighted to learn that our performance at the Unite the Union band club back in June of this year earned our Flugel player, Charlotte Behan the well deserved title of 'best soloist' for her performance of 'By the time I get to Phoenix'. Well done Charlotte!

A busy festive period has seen all 3 of the organisation's bands performing at many events including; Bolsover Lantern parade, Peak Cavern as well as spreading festive cheer to local residents through the launch of our Carols2U initiative, which has been exceptionally well received, and something we are looking forward to bringing back in 2024.

It will soon be time for the band to hang up their instruments until the New Year and take some well deserved time off, before starting preparations in January for the Area contest. From all at Dronfield Band Organisation, we would like to wish our supporters a very "Merry Christmas, and all the best for 2024".
